The Regiment of Artillery is an operational arm (a regiment/corps) of the Indian Army. 1st Battalion,17th Field Artillery Regiment A Battery, 6th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery 3rd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery 3rd Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Company E, 227th Aviation Regiment Company B, 50th Signal Battalion 129th Adjutant General Company Company A, 313th Military Intelligence Battalion The 1st Battalion, 17th Field Artillery deployed to Germany from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for a six months TDY period, from April 1976 to September 1976 under Increased Combat Capability Europe 1976 (ICCE 76). The first field artillery unit to redeploy was the 3d Battalion, 34th Artillery, which left Vietnam on 26 July 1969. The 1/17th was an 8-in self-propelled M110 gun unit consistiing of three gun batteries with four guns each.
